Cal State Fullerton right-hander Karl Macey pitched his team to a shutout win, 1-0, over the Texas Longhorns. The Titans bumped their record to 11-9 with this latest triumph.

Had Brandon Kortum not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Kortum hit a solo home run. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Titans.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Macey.
