Trojans Lose, 6-2, at Suns Ballpark
|
Houston pitcher Jim Shelby did his part in helping his team beat the USC Trojans, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Cougars bumped their record to 11-9 with this latest triumph.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from third baseman Chris Corbell. For the game, Corbell went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Houston a 4-2 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Shelby.
