Tigers Jolt Salukis with Late Rally
|
The Missouri Tigers stopped the South Illinois Salukis, 9-7, at Ballpark of Ridge College. The Tigers got a big game from Josh Isaacs, who was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was Troy Sigmon's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bobby Baxter took the loss for South Illinois. At 8-11, the Tigers are currently 17th in the Ron Fraser Division.
Isaacs had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-0 cutter from Bobby Baxter, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Tigers a 9-7 lead. It was the 19th hit of the year for Isaacs.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Isaacs told the Missouri Times. "It's as simple as that."
