Tigers Fall Short, 2-1, at Indiana State
|
Pit Vipers Ballpark was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring clash between Indiana State and Auburn, pitcher Erik Fletcher was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Indiana State in the 2-1 win. The win was A.J. Porter's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Andrew Parks took the loss for Auburn.
Josh Martin drew 2 walks in 3 plate appearances for Indiana State. The 20-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Humberto Menchaca. It was his 9th walk of the season.
