Koehn Goes Wild, But Cougars Win
The Houston Cougars defeated the Tulane Green Wave, 7-5. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Pete Koehn, who slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win was Kevin Freestone's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tyrese Bates took the loss for Tulane. The Cougars bumped their record to 10-9 with this latest triumph.

Aaron Hammon aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with a double and a walk.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hammon told the Houston Today. "It's as simple as that."
