Cyclones Stymie Indiana State, Take 1-0 Win

The Iowa State Cyclones got a good effort from starter Justin McCaffrey in defeating the Indiana State Sycamores at Forney College Grounds. The final score was 1-0. McCaffrey went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-1. Nick Swanson closed the door for Iowa State, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Justin Huizenga was 1 for 4 for Iowa State. The slick-fielding second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jake Hickerson. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"Feels good to get the job done," Huizenga said after the game.
The Cyclones bumped their record to 10-8 with this latest triumph.
