Biernacki Lifts Commodores to 9-3 Triumph
|
The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 9-3, at Ballpark of Barrow College. Vanderbilt third baseman Brent Biernacki was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Commodores bumped their record to 9-8 with this latest triumph.
Jason Valentine swatted a grand slam home run for Vanderbilt in the bottom of the third. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Biernacki, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
