Tigers Nip Golden Bears, 4-3

The LSU Tigers topped the California Golden Bears, 4-3, in Rod Dedeaux League action at South Paris College Grounds. The player of the game was LSU pitcher and Greenville, South Carolina native Doug Young. LSU reliever Jack Nodell picked up the win to move to 2-0. Marcus Huley suffered the loss. The Tigers bumped their record to 9-8 with this latest triumph.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from center fielder Rickey Moses. For the game, Moses was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave LSU a 4-2 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Moses, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
