|
USC Trojans starter Keith Hamrock was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Oregon Ducks, 4-1. Hamrock got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Hamrock allowed no earned runs. Chris Moran earned save number 6.
The Trojans got a big at-bat from left fielder Greg Dimon. For the game, Dimon went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 25th hit of the season gave USC a 2-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Dimon, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Trojans bumped their record to 9-8 with this latest triumph.
