Rice Owls starter Chris Roberts was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Texas A&M Aggies, 3-1. Rice goes to 7-10, Texas A&M to 8-9.

Rice took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, right fielder George Nash hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Rice skipper Jimmy Naylor.
