|
Miami starter Gabe George pitched effectively against the Florida Gators at Ballpark of Bismarck College. The right-hander led his team to a 7-2 win. George got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. George allowed no earned runs. Miami goes to 6-11, Florida to 13-4.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from right fielder Matt Malone. For the game, Malone was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Miami a 1-0 lead.
