Rebels Win at Mississippi State, 6-3
|
The Ole Miss Rebels topped the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 6-3, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Crowley College Grounds. The player of the game was Ole Miss pitcher Sergio Guerrero. Guerrero got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Guerrero allowed 3 earned runs. Gabe Perkins finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Eric Winkel aided the Ole Miss cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Guerrero, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Rebels have an impressive 9-4 record.
