Green Wave Lose, 7-2, at Ballpark of Macclenny College

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Bill Beasley, the Long Beach State 49'ers defeated the Tulane Green Wave, 7-2. Beasley went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the 49'ers. Tony Aaron was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Brian Purdy finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Jason Rizzo swatted a 2-run home run for Long Beach State in the bottom of the fourth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Long Beach State manager Richie Robertson.
The 49'ers bumped their record to 7-6 with this latest triumph.
