Demon Deacans Get Close Win Over Cowboys
The game between Wake Forest and Oklahoma State is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacans got a strong performance from pitcher Ross Charest, who stymied the Oklahoma State offense en route to a 3-2 win at Cypress Quarters College Grounds. The save went to Vic Horn, his 3rd this season.

Had Jeff Cross not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Cross hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Demon Deacans.

"We were in it," said Oklahoma State manager Chris Dunn. "We just didn't score enough runs."

The Demon Deacans bumped their record to 7-6 with this latest triumph.
