Tigers Get Road Win, 3-2
|
South Mississippi got a terrific performance from pitcher Danny Cook, but it wasn't enough to beat the LSU Tigers. LSU won the Ballpark of Storm Lake College contest, 3-2. Cook was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Josh Denney finished to wrap up his 1st save. The 15th-place Tigers are now 6-7, the Golden Eagles 7-6.
Rickey Moses, who is tied for 7th in the RDL in stolen bases with 3, aided the LSU cause with a solo home run in the top of the third. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Jason Metcalf.
