Sun Devils Lose 8-1 Decision to Ducks
|
With first baseman Zachary Long leading the charge, the Oregon Ducks defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils, 8-1, at Crunch Ballpark. Long, who is rated as the 56th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Oregon reliever Mike Russo was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Travis Gibson took the loss for Arizona State. The Ducks bumped their record to 6-6 with this latest triumph.
Oregon center fielder Hugo Rodriguez contributed to the cause with a double in the bottom of the third. For the game, Rodriguez was 3-5 with 2 doubles.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Long. "And not try to do too much."
