Clemson Tigers starter Efrain Almendares turned in an exceptional performance against the Iowa State Cyclones at Forney College Grounds, resulting in a Clemson win, 5-0. Andy Mayhew was credited with the save for Clemson, his 1st of the season. Even with the win, the Tigers have a dismal 3-9 record.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from first baseman Omar Bernardin. For the game, Bernardin went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Clemson a 1-0 lead.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Theodore Foster.
