Cizek Helps Cougars Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Houston Cougars bested the California Golden Bears by a score of 10-3, with designated hitter Jason Cizek getting the main credit. On the day, Cizek was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Cougars. Houston is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Cizek contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Houston in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Cizek took a fastball from Erik Teunissen and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Cougars to leap in front, 4-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Cizek told the Houston Today. "It's as simple as that."
