Multi-HR Game for O'Brien in 4-3 Win
|
The Florida State Seminoles bested the Clemson Tigers by a score of 4-3, with left fielder J.R. O'Brien getting the main credit. On the day, O'Brien went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Seminoles. Reliever John Spears picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Wirt took the loss. Rob Ray recorded the save for Florida State, his 1st of the season.
O'Brien had a key at-bat for Florida State early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Florida State an early 3-0 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Florida State manager Gene Barraclough.
The Seminoles bumped their record to 6-5 with this latest triumph.
