The Oregon Ducks topped the Oregon State Beavers, 9-4, with youngster Zachary Long playing a key role. Long was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Ducks in the win. Mike Shuster picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-1. He struck out 7 in 5.1 innings. The Ducks bumped their record to 5-5 with this latest triumph.

Long had a key at-bat for Oregon early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Oregon an early 3-0 lead.
