Jason Wilson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Kansas Jayhawks from losing, 6-4, to the Vanderbilt Commodores at Ballpark of Barrow College. Wilson was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Ray Tomlinson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Steve Canter was tagged with the loss. The Commodores, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.

Brent Biernacki, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Commodores organization, helped out the Vanderbilt cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Biernacki called the triumph "a good team win."
