The Georgia Bulldogs got a superb performance from pitcher Josh Allen, but the Indiana State Sycamores still won the game, 4-3. Allen was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Indiana State reliever Sam Wentzel picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nick Duke was saddled with the loss. A.J. Porter earned save number 1.
Jonathan Fitzwater aided the Indiana State cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3, while adding 2 RBI.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Fitzwater told the Indiana State Times.
At 5-3, the Sycamores have played well so far.
