Tigers Drop Another One
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets went home winners at Magistrates Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Jeff Farrar. Farrar silenced the Clemson Tigers, enabling Georgia Tech to grab the 3-0 win. In 6 innings, Farrar surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Yellow Jackets hope to make a postseason run.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the second, with the game tied, Mike Backer was at the plate when Georgia Tech scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Yellow Jackets to go in front, 1-0.

"We had a good game plan," Farrar said, "and we were able to execute it."
