49'ers Turn Back Owls, 3-1
|
The Long Beach State 49'ers went home winners at Ballpark of Macclenny College, thanks in large part to starter Tony Aaron. Aaron silenced the Rice Owls, enabling Long Beach State to grab the 3-1 win. In 5.1 innings, Aaron surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Long Beach State is 3-4.
The 49'ers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jason Chasteen. For the game, Chasteen went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Long Beach State a 3-0 lead.
