Beavers Lose, 4-1, at Red Wings Ballpark
It was a fun time at Red Wings Ballpark, where the Oregon State Beavers and Arizona Wildcats tangled.

Oregon State got a terrific performance from pitcher Adam Perkins, but it wasn't enough to beat the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona won the Red Wings Ballpark contest, 4-1. Perkins was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Arizona reliever Michael Williams picked up the win to move to 1-0. Adam Perkins suffered the loss. Stephen Schuller earned the save for Arizona, his 1st.

The game hung in the balance with no one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 2-1, Wildcats. But Oregon State had the bases empty. The Wildcats needed an out. Jason Campbell stepped into the box with a chance to deliver. Instead, he struck out.

The Wildcats, now 4-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
