Rebels Turn Back Texas, 4-2
|
The Ole Miss Rebels topped the Texas Longhorns, 4-2, with youngster Sean Brown playing a key role. Brown went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs for the Rebels in the win. Ole Miss reliever Steve Parkhurst picked up the win to move to 1-0. John Near suffered the loss. Gabe Perkins earned save number 3.
The Rebels got a big at-bat from left fielder Nick Domalik. For the game, Domalik went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Ole Miss a 2-1 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Domalik.
At 5-1, the Rebels have played well so far.
