Schellenger drives in 6 runs as Trojans Squeeze Past California
|
The USC Trojans defeated the California Golden Bears, 10-9, at Nesquehoning College Fields today. Leading the charge for USC was center fielder Marty Schellenger. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 6. Brandon Jones picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ernie Spencer was tagged with the loss. Chris Moran closed the game out for USC, earning his 2nd save.
Greg Dimon, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Trojans organization, aided the USC cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Schellenger.
The Trojans raised their record to 3-3.
