Aggies Rally to Eke Out Win
Louisiana-Layfayette got a terrific performance from center fielder Brad Minson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas A&M won the Field of the Dukes contest, 6-5. Minson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the loss, Louisiana-Layfayette falls to 2-4.

The Aggies got a big at-bat from first baseman Pete Thompson. For the game, Thompson went 1-1. In the top of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Texas A&M a 6-5 lead.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Dave Frederick, the Texas A&M manager.
