The Indiana State Sycamores trumped the Florida State Seminoles, 7-1, at Pit Vipers Ballpark. Indiana State catcher Jeff Mason was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Mike Butler closed the game out for Indiana State, earning his 1st save. The Sycamores raised their record to 3-3.

When the Sycamores needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Mason who delivered. Facing Florida State pitcher Tony Taylor the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded, Mason hit his 1st home run of the year. It made the score 5-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Mason told the Indiana State Times.
