Gators Get Road Win, 6-2
|
The Florida Gators defeated the Clemson Tigers, 6-2, in Skip Bertman League action at Magistrates Ballpark, with Florida pitcher Ben Callahan named player of the game. Callahan picked up the win for Florida, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Rusty Tine sewed up the save, his 1st.
The Gators got a big at-bat from left fielder Logan Ballengee. For the game, Ballengee went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Florida a 3-0 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Callahan said after the game.
The Gators, now 4-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
