Patterson goes 3-for-5, Longhorns Move to 3-2
The Texas Longhorns grabbed a 13-7 win over the USC Trojans at Ballpark of Celebration College. Texas catcher Joey Patterson went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 to earn player of the game honors. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Longhorns hope to make a postseason run.

Patterson had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Longhorns went on to win.

"Feels good to get the job done," Patterson said after the game.
