Whitsitt Helps Long Beach State Cruise to 10-3 Win
The Long Beach State 49'ers grabbed a 10-3 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Long Beach State third baseman Keith Whitsitt was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times to earn player of the game honors. Brandon Christopher got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Long Beach State, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
