Moses Goes Wild, But Rebels Win
|
LSU center fielder Rickey Moses was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Ole Miss beat the Tigers, 5-4. Moses was named the player of the game despite the loss. Gabe Perkins closed the game out for Ole Miss, earning his 2nd save. Ole Miss, at 3-1, has sizzled in the early going.
Shane Orgain's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a slider from Josh Denney for a solo home run. It put Ole Miss in front, 5-4.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said LSU manager Thomas Hall.
