Aggies Edge Past 49'ers, 4-3
|
Texas A&M beat Long Beach State at Sooners Ballpark, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Will Salmon, who earned player of the game honors. Texas A&M reliever Pete Golding picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Brian Purdy shouldered the loss. The Aggies, with only their 1st win in 4 games, have not had much to write home about in 2033.
Ryan Ryan was the walk-off hero for Texas A&M. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Aggies left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Long Beach State manager Richie Robertson said following the tough loss.
