Fans who gathered at Titans Ballpark saw a good contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers.
Alabama Crimson Tide starter Theodore Ahlstrom pitched a strong game against the Clemson Tigers at Titans Ballpark, leading the Crimson Tide to a 1-0 win. Alabama reliever Danny Shaw picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andy Mayhew shouldered the loss.
Had Josh Knudsen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Knudsen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Crimson Tide.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Clemson manager Dominique Maze said following the tough loss.
The Crimson Tide, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
