Bulldogs Turn Back Cal State Fullerton, 6-4
|
The Mississippi State Bulldogs dealt the Cal State Fullerton Titans a 6-4 loss at Crowley College Grounds. Josh Simmons was the star on offense. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. With the loss, Cal State Fullerton falls to 2-2.
The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Rizzo. For the game, Rizzo went 1-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Mississippi State a 4-3 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Simmons said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
