Cyclones Get Road Win, 4-1
|
The Iowa State Cyclones got a strong performance from pitcher Tim Hayward, who stymied the Vanderbilt offense en route to a 4-1 win at Ballpark of Barrow College. The Cyclones, now 4-0, have hit the ground running this season.
Iowa State left fielder David Gold contributed to the cause with a single in the top of the fourth. For the game, Gold was 1-4.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hayward told the Iowa State Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
