Gators Roll to 9-3 Win Over Sycamores
|
The Florida Gators beat the Indiana State Sycamores, 9-3, at Ballpark of Bismarck College. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Nick Britt, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Florida, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
Ian Houghtaling's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for Florida. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Florida leading 2-1, the catcher reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Houghtaling told the Florida Today.
