Sooners Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
The Oklahoma Sooners overcame a good performance by Ohio State first baseman Ron Davis to knock off Ohio State, 6-5, at Biglerville College Fields. Davis went 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Oklahoma starter Bob Walls was credited with the win after throwing 84 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Oklahoma, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.

The Sooners got a big at-bat from second baseman Braiden Reed. For the game, Reed went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Oklahoma a 6-4 lead.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Sooners manager Bennie Edwards. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
