Cavaliers Slip Past Indiana State, 3-2
|
The Cavaliers had to overcome a good performance from Indiana State pitcher Dan Fram to claim a 3-2 win at Pit Vipers Ballpark. Fram went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. The win was credited to Cesar Reyes in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Oliver Berkson took the loss. Virginia, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
Sam Lewis, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Cavaliers organization, chipped in for Virginia with a solo home run in the top of the 13th. For the game, the catcher had 3 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Lewis.
