Cyclones Jolt Bulldogs with Late Rally

The Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 6-4, at Field of the Plunder today. Leading the charge for Iowa State was first baseman Jamie Ballentine. He was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Earl Thiesen in relief. His record improves to 1-0. James Potts took the loss. Nick Swanson earned the save, his 1st.
Ballentine had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 curveball from James Potts, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cyclones a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Ballentine.
"It feels good to get this one," Ballentine told the Iowa State Bulletin.
Iowa State, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
