Oklahoma State right-hander David Tienken made an effective start against the North Carolina Tar Heels at Bruisers Ballpark, leading his team to a 3-0 win. Alvin Sheldon was credited with the save for Oklahoma State, his 1st of the season. Oklahoma State, now 2-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Joe Stark aided the Oklahoma State cause with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run.

"It's a mindset," said Tienken. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
