Tigers Get Close Win Over Wildcats
|
The LSU Tigers got their 2033 USA NCAA DIVISION I season off to a good start, defeating the Arizona Wildcats, 6-5. Jordan Earwood went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. For his pace-setting performance, he was named player of the game.
Evan Engel found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Arizona hurler Stephen Schuller, the 19-year-old right fielder reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. His 0th RBI of the season put the Tigers on top, 6-5.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Earwood, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
