Late Rally by Toreros Secures Win
The losses keep piling up for the San Francisco Earthquakes.

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Takaaki Hirayama, the Cabo San Lucas Toreros defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-5. Hirayama went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Toreros. Masazumi Ohayashi, credited with the win, is now 6-2. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 8 innings. Amirtharaj Nagaraja converted his 14th save in 17 tries.

Hirayama had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-2 changeup from Eric Markle, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Toreros a 7-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Hirayama.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hirayama.

The losses continue to pile up for San Francisco, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
