The Virginia Cavaliers got their 2033 USA NCAA DIVISION I season off to a good start, defeating the Kansas Jayhawks, 14-5. Sam Lewis went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. For his pace-setting performance, he was named player of the game. Cody Botelho picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Trevor Nichols was tagged with the loss.
