The Alabama Crimson Tide satisfied the home crowd at Titans Ballpark, treating them to a season-opening win, 4-2, over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Starting Pitcher Nick Burdette was named player of the game for Alabama. Josh Cicero picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Rich Steverson was tagged with the loss.

Had Tommie Parsons not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Parsons hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Crimson Tide.

"It was a good effort all around," said Parsons.
