Marauders Win at South Carolina, 7-1
|
The Maple Marauders trumped the South Carolina Bombers, 7-1, at Bomber Ballpark. Maple right fielder Conor Borlase was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Maple reliever Minoru Aoki picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Ange Schmit took the loss. The Marauders own a robust 44-21 mark.
With Maple leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Borlase hit a slider from Ange Schmit for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Marauders ahead, 4-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Borlase told the Maple Citizen.
