The skies opened up and the rain fell at Envoys Ballpark.
Matt Rank left his imprint on the 5-3 Brisbane win against the Palm Beach Bums. Rank, who is tied for 5th in the AHL in hits with 152, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Bush Wackers, at 100-61, now lead their division by 13½ games.
Rank had a key at-bat for Brisbane early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and gave Brisbane an early 2-0 lead.
"This was a good win for us," said Rank. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
