Blazers Solve Pioneers, 5-4
|
Bloomington withstood an impressive performance by Vancouver catcher Baskoro Pamungkas to defeat the Pioneers, 5-4, at Arson Arena. Pamungkas was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mitsuzuka Koyama got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Paco Berroa notched his 21st save in 26 chances.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Camden Mansel. For the game, Mansel went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 3-1 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Mansel said.
The Blazers have an impressive 41-23 record.
