Jedi Knights Need Extras to Top Vikings
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights faced a tough opponent in Victoria pitcher Joey McCalvin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The drakkar by a final score of 3-2. McCalvin went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. New Orleans reliever Bobby Wallace picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Andy Jones was collared with the loss. Dave Barrett earned his 1st save in 2 chances.
Yasuhide Nozawa's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a curveball from Andy Jones for a solo home run. It put New Orleans in front, 3-2.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Mason Eilers.
At 86-70, the Jedi Knights are currently third in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
